This 4-star campsite is located on the Loix peninsula in the Île de Ré's smallest village.
An island on an island, the village is linked to the rest of the Île de Ré by a single narrow lane which winds through the salt marshes.
The campsite is friendly and family-oriented, offering a programme of activities six days a week in July and August as well as a busy kids' club led by mascot “Tommie”.
Take advantage of the site's numerous leisure facilities with a swim in the pool, fun in the paddling pool or a dip in the jacuzzi.
In terms of accommodation, there's something to suit very taste from the comfort of a static caravan, chalet or all-canvas Freeflower holiday home to traditional camping pitches separated by hedges.
The campsite also offers a wide range of facilities including a snack bar, a small shop and Wi-Fi access.

The campsite provides the following facilities:

A children's playground
2 tennis courts
1 beach volleyball court
4 table tennis tables
4 boules courts and a games room.

There is also a free access multi-sports court just 800 m away.

The Île de Ré, a cyclist's paradise

No matter what your level of fitness, the Île de Ré offers a 100 km long network of cycle paths suitable for all ages and abilities. The bicycle is still the best way of getting around the island and exploring its varied landscapes.
Loix itself has over 5 km of cycle path forming a loop from the Plage du Grouin through the salt marshes and the village. Ideal for a family outing!
The Route du Sel cycle path, opened in 2011, links Loix to the Île de Ré's main cycle route.

Children and grown-ups alike love the centuries' old Île de Ré tradition of clothing donkeys - not for its sartorial appeal but to protect the animals for the numerous pests once rampant on the island. This tradition is being revived today by Monsieur Léau, an Île de Ré donkey breeder who organises donkey and pony and trap rides.

In Loix, Planète Sports et Loisirs offers a variety of activities including introductory microlight flights and model aircraft flying lessons (airplanes, helicopters and gliders).

The island of Ré is famous for its long sandy beaches, ideal for swimming, relaxing and water sports. The coast offers plenty of opportunities for surfing, kitesurfing, sailing and paddle boarding. Those who prefer to take it easy can simply enjoy the coastal walks, with their breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean.

Charming villages and local crafts

The island boasts a number of picturesque villages, including La Flotte, voted one of France's most beautiful villages, and Saint-Martin-de-Ré, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its Vauban fortifications. These villages reflect a rich historical past, with their cobbled streets, lively markets and typical harbours. You can also discover local specialities such as oysters from the Ile de Ré, local wines and salt from the salt marshes.

Nature and relaxation

The Ile de Ré is a haven of peace for nature lovers. With over 100 kilometres of cycle paths, you can easily explore the salt marshes, vineyards and pine forests by bike. You can also walk along the seaside paths.

To get to Flower Camping Les Ilates on the Ile de Ré, follow these practical tips:

By car, from La Rochelle, take the Ile de Ré bridge (toll required) which will take you directly to the island. Once on the island, follow the D735 towards the village of Loix. The campsite is well signposted at the entrance to the village, and there is a car park nearby.

If you're coming by train, the nearest station is La Rochelle. From here, regular buses or taxis will take you to the Ile de Ré and Loix. You can also hire a car in La Rochelle or use the car-sharing services.

For cyclists, the Ile de Ré has an extensive network of cycle paths. From the bridge, head towards Loix for a pleasant ride through the island's typical landscapes.

Once there, follow the signs to the campsite, which is just a few minutes from the centre of the village.
